Is it possible to recover a hard disk which does not get detected by the BIOS?

HDD Regenerator works with detected by BIOS hard drives only. If the drive is not detected by BIOS or has a physical breakage (damaged heads, logical card, etc.), it will not be repaired by the product.

Does HDDR support SCSI hard drives?!

Yes, HDDR supports SCSI hard drives.

Can I use HDD Regenerator to clone the drive & copy all of the partions, data, applications, etc?

HDD Regenerator is not a cloning software. It is intended for recovery of bad sectors on a hard drive surface. If your hard drive contains bad sectors, the HDD Regenerator should be used before cloning.

Does this software work with solid state drives?

Yes, HDD Regenerator supports SSD drives.

Does HDDR fix sectors that don’t show up as bad?

If a sector is not bad, it can be regenerated in the "Regenerate all sectors in a range" mode (option 3 of the "Normal Scan" mode).

Does Hdd Regenerator run on clusters and shared storage devices?

HDD Regenerator can  be used with RAID arrays. The product was not tested on clusters and shared storage devices.

Does HDD Regenerator work with Linux?

HDD Regenerator supports Linux-formatted hard disks.You can install the product on any Windows computer to create a bootable regenerating CD/DVD orflash, then boot your Linux computer from the CD/flash created to start the process.Unfortunately, a native Linux version does not yet exist.

What is it “Delays” and how to repair delays?

Hdd Regenerator repairs delays. If your hdd is external, it’s better that you plug it as an internal drive. If you have delays under Windows, it’s better to rescan the hdd from a bootable regenerating CD/flash.Permanent delays shows that your hdd has sectors with long access time. A hdd with permanent delays is actually failing drive and may cause data losses. Try to regenerate this kind of sectors with "Regenerate all sectors in a range" option. Also, the delays can be regenerated with “scan and repair” option, if the following both conditions are met:1. Your hdd doesn’t contain bad sectors.2. Your hdd has been completely scanned at least 1 time.If you still have delays, such delays are permanent then the hdd should be replaced. Generally, 1-2 delays are not a problem. Your hdd will work. Unfortunatelly, later the amount of permanent delays will increase and you should be replace a hard disk.

My order is declined! WTF?!

CREDIT CARD payment option – Many times we simply do not know why - the customer's credit card company does not give us any reason for the decline. From a security standpoint, they cannot give fraudulent customers enough information about what they have done wrong so that they may figure out a way to "get around" the system.PAYPAL payment option – If the order was placed with the PayPal payment option, when the order was released, the connection with PayPal had already expired and therefore the order could not be completed.SOLUTION – In this case we recommend to place a new order but use Credit Card or a delayed payment method to place their order just in case it is held again for DPL review.  PayPal is currently  the only payment method that has an issue with processing after it is approved.

Is it possible to just add the serial number to the TRIAL version and have the software complete the repair of all the bad sectors?

After you enter a serial number, the product will be closed. The product has auto-resume (except CD/DVD). If you have started a process directly under Windows or from a bootable regenerating flash, you can exit the product at any stage. The process will be resumed automatically when you start it next time in the same mode.In order to scan bad sectors only, please do the following. Start a process, then press Esc and select the "Change start/end sectors" option. On the start sector selection page, press "B".

Is it a way in order to regenerate just one part or portion of the HDD?

Yes. In order to start a process at a specific sector: 1. Start a process. 2. Press ESC. 3. Choose "Change Start/End sector" option (3). 4. Enter start sector using the keyboard arrows, digits, or digits with “m” following. 5. Enter end sector. If you want to scan the drive to the end, just press “enter”.

Is it a way to “bad sectors” found to tell to the OS to skip them, to avoid datas saved on these bad sectors or clusters?

Yes. In order to skip bad sectors by OS, please use the chkdsk /R command.

Which file system is better for high speed HDD Regenerator FAT32 or NTFS?

All version of HDD Regenerator works at physical level. The speed doesn’t depend you have a FAT32 or NTFS. Software works with any type of file system and also with unformatted or unpartitioned disks. But IDE mode may have an impact on speed. For example, in the AHCI mode, HDD Regeneration works properly, but regeneration speed may be slower than in the compatible IDE mode.

Completed scan process shows 150 bad sectors and 132 bad sectors regenerated. How can I regenerate other bad sectors?

Please, try several passes of product.

When i try to boot Hdd Regenerator from a CD I got an error message: “Invalid system disk”.

Please, check boot priority settings in the system BIOS and make sure the regenerating disk you created is chosen as a first boot device. Also check if your CD device does not have a hardware problem and works properly. Try to use another CD-R disks or flash drive.

I made a bootable USB flash of 8 Gb and It becomes 1.92 Gb and I cannot do anything to recover the space although I formatted it.

HDD Regenerator 2011 has an embedded “Reset Flash Size” option.

Can I use HDD Regenerator 2011 on AHCI mode?

You can use HDD Regenerator in the AHCI mode, however the regeneration speed may be slower than in the compatible IDE mode.

All bad sectors was fixed but my 0 sector displays a delay and my hard disk drive is not available. What can I do in this case?

Please, backup data from the drive, then try the “Regenerate all sectors in a range” option on the part of the drive with the delay.

If I use HDD Regenerator, should I create a NTFS over the lost partition and then run HDD Regenerator or HDD Regenerator and then partition?

HDD Regenerator works at physical level only, it doesn’t matter if you have a partition or not.

When i want to start the HDD regenerator scan, it appears a message: “unable to open console windows”.

It sounds like the HDD Regenerator is blocked by antivirus program installed on your computer. Please remove the hddreg.exe file from the blacklist of your antivirus. Try to reinstall the product. If you cannot resolve the issue, please use the bootable regenerating CD or flash option.

Which is a better way to repair an external drive, to boot from the CD or to start the process directly under Windows?

A better way (with a better performance) to repair an external drive is to dismount the failed drive from the external case, connect it as an internal drive and to start the process directly under Windows. But this requires some skill in computer assembling and also you may lose vendor's warranty on the external drive if you dismount it from the case.

After install I get “Unable to initialize 0x05!!” when trying to start!

This error is related to functioning of Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) on your computers. It is possible that your antivirus program affects this service as Security Center service depends on WMI service. Try to restart the computer, or try to disable "load on startup" and manually run the HDD Regenerator after the computer is completely started. Also please make sure you have installed all latest Windows updates from Microsoft.

Will HDD Regenerator also be able to find and rescue data on the drive after an accidental partitioning?

HDD Regenerator is intended for recovery of bad sectors on a hard disk surface. It can recover unreadable data, but only as a result of repairing of bad sectors in the data area. Unfortunately, if the data is lost because of repartitioning, the HDD Regenerator will not help.

If you have started the process directly under Windows or from a bootable regenerating flash, the process will be started from a termination point automatically. If you have started the process from a bootable regenerating CD, you can remember the termination sector, then resume the process from the termination point using the “Change Start/End sector” option.
